Business visitors must obtain a business visa before travel unless they are visa exempt based on their nationality. Business visas are available in a few subtypes (B1, B2, and B3) depending on the purpose of stay. Business visas can be issued for single, double or multiple entries; and for 30, 60 or 90 day stays in a 180-day period. The visa application process can be complicated and time-consuming.
The Work Permit is used by skilled workers and permits work for up to three years, though it is generally granted for one year. Extensions are available for a maximum of three years, for up to one year per each renewal.
Note that nationals of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia are both visa and work-permit exempt.
Detailed Immigration Snapshots, Document Lists and Process Guides are available to clients on request.
