About Djibouti

Whether your company is sending employees to Djibouti or expanding your worldwide footprint—Fragomen is here to help. Our experienced immigration professionals partner with businesses of all sizes to develop immigration strategies that can help you achieve your goals.

  • Djibouti's immigration system provides several options for employers of foreign nationals. There is no defined list of acceptable business visitor activities in Djiboutian law.
  • While there is no defined list of acceptable business activities under Djiboutian law, foreign nationals may perform most activities as business visitors, provided they do not enter into a local employment contract. All foreign nationals except Singaporean nationals require an entry visa to Djibouti.
  • A consular Business Visa can be granted for multiple entries (if requested) and a stay of up to 90 consecutive days. The Business eVisa is a single-entry digital visa that allows an initial stay of 30 days, which can be extended to a total stay of 90 days.
  • The primary work authorization category is the Work License, typically granted for one year initially. Foreign nationals must obtain a residence permit, which is also issued for an initial period of one year.
