About Argentina

Whether your company is sending employees to Argentina or expanding your worldwide footprint—Fragomen is here to help. Our experienced immigration professionals partner with businesses of all sizes to develop immigration strategies that can help you achieve your goals.

  • Argentinian law provides several options for employers of foreign nationals. Requirements, processing times, employment eligibility and benefits for accompanying family members vary by visa type. To sponsor foreign nationals for work permits or visas, companies must be registered with RENURE (Registro Nacional Único de Requirentes de Extranjeros).
  • A business visa or business entry authorization is required to conduct any business activities in Argentina. It is generally granted for stays of up to 60 days for visa nationals and up to 90 days for visa-exempt nationals. Business visas can be granted for one to five years, depending on the foreign national's nationality.
  • Work authorization is required for any hands-on, remunerated work in Argentina. The 24 h) Transitory Visa is used by foreign nationals seeking to conduct short-term work and technical activities in Argentina and permits work for up to 30 or 90 days, depending on the type. The primary long-term work authorization is the Temporary Residence Visa. It can be granted for up to one year and generally for one year. It has two subcategories - 23 a) for local hires and localized employees who will enter into an employment contract with the host company, and 23 e) for seconded employees and intracompany transferees.
  • Argentina also offers a short-term residence permit for digital nomads, which allows foreign nationals employed outside of Argentina to work remotely from Argentina for up to six months using telecommunication tools (renewable one time for the same period), without local employer sponsorship.

Fragomen can also consult on citizenship matters and, as permitted within the confines of local law, may be able to offer citizenship assistance.

Fragomen in Argentina is Immigration Specialists S.R.L.
